putting a password on the router simply reduces the ability of others to access the router’s interface, nothing else.
realy sounds like you don’t know much about this and need to get some personal tech help.
however, if you wish to try, you may need to set up various connections and /or reset them when moving from one connection to another. while vista and 7 have more automatic functions, moving from one location/connection to another is problematic almost anytime.

since you say youcan connetc wired,you may need to look around in your router’s configuration to see if you’ve accidentally (or purposfully) changed any of the access settings (mac filter, encryption, etc) and verify if yoyhave the orrect settings on your wifi in your system. this can cause further problems so you need to be sure of what you’re doing as well as document it in the process so you can change it back later if nec. or you will simply end up having to completely reset the router and start over.

‘out of the blue’ soundsl ike you had a windows update which may have altered the wifi drivers in your system. happens enough of the time i don’t ever update drivers for my wifi, graphics or NIC from windows update. if you can, you may have to double check both the driver for the wifi as well as it’s settings in device manager and if nec do a roll balc of the driver there. if you cannot because you have this feature turned off, you may have to downlaod the driver from the wifi manufaturer’s site or the laptop site.

It may not have a digital tuner, but Coax input from the converter box should work (set it to Ch 3 or Ch 4).. Otherwise, ask comcast to send you a real set-top box.

Using component, the Wii should work as well.

Try pressing the “clear” button on the remote. If that does not remove the “p”, you could try unplugging the set for 10-15 minutes to reset the computer.

That’s a new one on me, Ive been working on RCA sets for over thirty years now.

I have looked up your set, and there might be a trouble code stored. If what I say to you does not help, please email me for instructions on how to clear the trouble codes.

If it is always on the same channel like 3 or 4 maybe you have a channel set to display the P in the channel banner. See instructions for that.

Can’t help you with Showtime, but for like $ 5.95 per month you can watch starz. It is only one channel and you have to download most movies before watching them. It can be had from http://starz.real.com Depending on the type of shows you want to watch, I have a link on my site under Chatty Kathy & Friends, Our Favorite Videos, to free online TV episodes of most everything available from all major networks. Some TVs will show “no signal” or be grayed out on an input that does not have an active incoming signal. For example, you can’t select the DVD player unless a DVD is being played. That strikes me as a very user-unfriendly feature, but I’ve seen it before.

Other than that, you seem to be doing everything right. If it’s not the above active-signal problem, there’s no easy solution without physically testing the TV. Have you tried the troubleshooting tips in the back of the user’s manual?

Beyond that–is it new? If so, take it back to the store or start the warranty process.

Any PC/laptop will do,
as long as they have wireless g you’re set

best buy wants you to buy those “special” computers because they make more money of of you that way (there is higher profit margin on those laptops). The truth is the Netgear Push to TV works with any PC as long as they have wireless g, so practically any current laptop will be fine.

ps. the processor does not matter at all for push2tv, don’t believe what the high school students at best buy tell you
